Advantage IR Opens First Interventional Radiology Clinic in Phoenix

Rapid changes in IR procedures brings new options to patients

Scottsdale, AZ September 1, 2020 – Advantage IR, a leader in Interventional Radiology (IR) procedures, is excited to announce that it has acquired the practice of David Wood, MD, formerly known as Health Genius, Inc. doing business as ImageMed, and it intends to expand and grow his Scottsdale, Arizona office. They are also pleased to say that Dr. Wood will be staying on to treat and manage patients, and will also serve as Advantage IR’s Chief Medical Officer.

Interventional Radiology procedures provide a new option to patients over traditional open surgery. IR procedures provide shorter recovery times, fewer side effects, require no hospital stay, are covered by insurance and have the same or better results.

“We are excited to bring this type of treatment, typically done in hospitals, to an outpatient setting.” said Dr. David Wood. “Patients are going to love the fact they can get their diseases addressed with a minimally invasive procedure that will not require surgery and have them home that day. We are providing patients new options.”

The premier procedures the clinic will focus on are for Benign Prostate Hyperplasia (BPH), Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD), Uterine Fibroids, Osteoarthritis of the Knee and Internal Hemorrhoids. All of these diseases have traditionally been treated with a more invasive surgery. Patients now have the option of a non-surgical procedure that provides the same or better results.

The location and hours of the clinic are:

3301 N Miller Rd #120 Scottsdale, AZ 85251
Hours: Monday-Friday 9am-5pm
